Terms & Conditions
These terms and conditions apply in relation to any services provided by Learnjoy Limited (company number 11841728), a company incorporated in England (“Learnjoy”) to any customer. We have attempted to make these as straightforward as possible, in clear English.
Payment can be made using Master Card, Visa, Switch, Delta, Maestro and American Express. Payment for experiences is in advance.
If you need to cancel
In the event that you need to withdraw from your experience, please contact us as soon as possible. For this to be valid, we will acknowledge your request in writing. Please allow up to 48 hours.
When it is more than 28 days before the start date of your experience, we will endeavour to re-advertise your place. If we successfully fill your place, we will refund all monies paid minus an administration fee of £65 per place. If we cannot successfully fill your place by fourteen days prior to the event, then we will be unable to process a refund.
If you cancel less than 28 days before the start date of your experience, there will be insufficient time to fill your place. We will unfortunately be unable to process a refund. We recommend that all participants have comprehensive travel insurance in place.
Your place is transferable at no charge with prior written and acknowledged permission. Notification must be given at least 14 days prior to the start date of the event. However, in extenuating circumstances we will endeavour to accommodate last-minute transfer of your place, although a £65 per place administration fee may be applied.
If we need to cancel the event
Learnjoy reserves the right to cancel the experience up to 14 days before start date. In this case, all monies paid will be refunded in full.
Whilst staff from Learnjoy and the host venue will do all they can to ensure that participants’ belongings are safe and secure at all times we cannot accept any responsibility for loss or damage to your property at the venue in buildings, car parks or grounds.
Damage and breakages
Learnjoy and any subsidiary or the host venue reserve the right to charge the full replacement cost of any equipment lost or damaged by you.
We reserve the right to make fair and reasonable changes to the programme. The reasoning for this will be presented at the earliest convenience.
Equality and behaviour
Learnjoy creates inclusive experiences, welcoming tutors, staff and participants from many different ethnic groups, backgrounds and creeds. Human rights and freedoms are respected. At some of our venues, our physical facilities for the disabled are limited. We will, of course, do all that is reasonable to ensure that Learnjoy's culture, policies and procedures are made accessible to participants who have disabilities and to comply with our legal and moral responsibilities under equality legislation, in order to accommodate the needs of participants who have disabilities for which, after reasonable adjustments, we can cater adequately.
We expect all our tutors, staff and participants to share our commitment to inclusion. In the interest of safeguarding the welfare of fellow participants and staff, if any individual behaves in a way that does not show due consideration for others or their property, we reserve the right to request that person to leave after suitable consultation, appropriate to the level of the matter. The course of action taken will be reasonable and proportionate. In the unfortunate instance a participant is required to leave for misconduct, we will not be able to refund monies paid.
Privacy and data protection
Learnjoy Limited abides by the statutory terms of the General Data Protection Regulation. We will only share personal information following your consent.
Allergies and dietary requirements
Please note that our dishes may contain allergenic ingredients. Special diets for food allergies will be catered for only if they have been arranged prior to your experience and confirmed in writing. If you wish to know more about the catering, please contact one of the directors. Every care will be given during the experience in the case of any allergy sufferers, but Learnjoy cannot guarantee an allergen free kitchen; any food is consumed at your own risk. Learnjoy holds a five star health and hygiene rating at its food preparation premises.
It is your responsibility to inform us of any pre-existing medical conditions which may affect your participation in the experience. We cannot be held responsible for any problems that may arise, except as a result of our own negligence.
Smoking is not permitted indoors under British law. We ask that participants respect venues’ own policies and guidelines on smoking.
Participants should note venues’ own Terms & Conditions.
Any event beyond our reasonable control including but not limited to extreme weather conditions, fires, flooding, national strikes, power failures, food shortages etc. may force us to cancel the experience at short notice. We would aim to give at least 24 hours’ notice. In this exceptional instance we will naturally refund all the monies paid for your experience, however we cannot be held liable for any ancillary costs you may have incurred (e.g. transport to and from the venue etc.) In the exceptional event that we are unable to complete or deliver the full experience, we will endeavour to refund the proportion of the experience received, and a discount will be issued, valid for future experiences.
We recommend that you have adequate insurance.
Feedback and complaints
We welcome all feedback; we intend to be an ISO 9001 compliant company, demonstrating a commitment to continuous improvement. In the event that you wish to make a formal complaint about the content of our provision, the venue, staff, or any matter connected to your experience, then please bring it to our attention, either verbally or in writing, as soon as possible. A copy of Learnjoy's Complaints Procedure can be supplied on request.
Rights of third parties
Subject to consultation and for the benefit of all stakeholders, the terms of this agreement may be enforced by Learnjoy, its subsidiaries, participants, venues or suppliers. Other contract addendums may be applicable (i.e. venues’ own terms and conditions) – these will be provided alongside these Terms & Conditions. Please make sure that you have read these also prior to confirming your reservation.
These Terms & Conditions shall be governed at all time by the laws of England and Wales and all the involved parties in this agreement submit to the jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales. These Terms & Conditions do not in any case affect your statutory rights as stated in law.
